Inspiring future industry leaders
The California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation invests in the future of the restaurant industry by providing California youth with opportunities to build foodservice careers through high-quality industry-driven education, mentoring, life-skills training, scholarships, competitions and support.
The restaurant workforce is massive, with all signs pointing to exponential growth. The National Restaurant Association projects a more than 10 percent boost in California's restaurant employment over the next decade, with the number of employees ballooning to nearly 1.6 million by 2023. Building up a skilled and educated workforce is crucial to the future of the industry's growth. The Foundation's ProStart and scholarship programs bridge the gap for the employment needs of the industry, fostering talented students who are passionate about pursuing meaningful foodservice careers.
Support CRAEF at the Show
There are two ways to assist CRAEF at the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo:
- Attend the Culinary Clash: Battle Los Angeles event at 3 p.m. Sunday on the main stage. Renowned restaurant companies will vie for a title in a cook-off competition of epic proportions. All proceeds raised will benefit CRAEF. The lively free event will feature food and drinks.
- Visit booth No. 627 and give a small donation to the Foundation. Give $5 and receive a voucher for a free Charburger with cheese courtesy of the Habit Burger Grill.
