MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE WESTERN FOODSERVICE & HOSPITALITY EXPO IN SAN DIEGO - AUGUST 28-30, 2011
SAN DIEGO, CA, July 19, 2011- Since 1936 thousands of restaurant and foodservice industry professionals have attended The Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo. To celebrate the event’s 75th anniversary, there will be dozens of exciting special events and educational programs plus hundreds of companies showcasing new products at this trade show and conference taking place at the San Diego Convention Center from August 28-30, 2011. Event highlights, include:
- The 2011 Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum - The conference program features industry leaders delivering applicable business lessons, the latest information on trends and best practices in the market, and solutions to grow a business. The Forum offers content for all concepts, with panels on "New Fine Dining!”, “The Top 5 Master Chef Must Have Skills", and “Maximizing Social Media for Restaurants”; as well as the Keynote Address “No Borders, No Boundaries” presented by Kat Cole, President of Cinnabon, Inc.
- ACF Culinary Demonstration - Experience the finest cuisine and food preparation techniques, as skilled chefs showcase their talents in a variety of cooking demonstrations. Hosted by the San Diego Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. The Culinary Show Chair is William Ramsey CEC, CCA.
- Ultimate Barista Challenge USA brings professional barista to the Expo to face challengers all preparing their signature espresso beverages for a panel of judges. There will be a showdown of three flights of espresso frappe, espresso cocktails and beautiful café latte art.
- Expo Comida Latina the only industry trade event focused on the Hispanic retail and foodservice markets. Thousands of new and traditional Hispanic flavors and products are presented, along with 300 booths of food, education sessions on Hispanic market trends, and culinary demonstrations by top chefs, including Chef La La.
- The 2nd Annual Foodservice Council for Women and Networking Event provides a community for women to develop and advance their business knowledge, contacts & careers and to connect, exchange, and discuss relevant topics in foodservice. Presented by Kathleen Wood of Kathleen Wood Partners, Ferdinand Metz, and Reed Exhibitions.
- Healthy Afternoon: Experts in nutrition, marketing & menu analysis will share the research data, the trends in a line-up of educational sessions on the important initiative of healthy dining choices in restaurants.
- The Multi Unit Operator Alliance is designed to deliver business solutions that meet the specific needs and business challenges of the Multi Unit Operator. The Alliance is designed to support organizations of all sizes.
- Local Store Marketing University is an educational program devised to enhance restaurant marketer’s ability to understand, create and implement local store marketing strategies to increase sales and awareness, will debut at on Monday, August 29th 3:00-5:00pm.
