Jeff Rector has spent his entire life “thinking outside the box” because he always felt “the box” was way too confining. Jeff is a problem solver, so when it comes to marketing for one of his films as an award-winning writer, director, producer, for the Burbank International Film Festival as President and Festival Director, or for himself as an award-winning working actor, Jeff likes to keep a fresh perspective.
“Fatal Kiss” was Jeff’s first short film, as writer, director, producer, star, and won many awards on the film festival circuit and became one of the first short films ever acquired by HBO. “Fatal Kiss” was then expanded into a feature film, “Revamped”, which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in. “Revamped” received worldwide distribution and is currently available on VOD and a number of other top internet platforms.
“Pray Another Day” was Jeff’s second successful short film and won a number of awards as well and was a finalist in the Indie Producers Awards held at The Writers Guild of America. Jeff’s newest film “John Doe”, is currently making its way around the festival circuit as an official selection for “The Big Island Film Festival”, “The Cayman Island Film Festival”, “The Big River Film Festival”, “The Swedish Film Festival” and won the Silver Screen Award at the “Las Vegas Film Festival”.
As a working actor, Jeff has appeared in over 80 TV shows and feature films and co-starred in the SYFY original film “Bermuda Tentacles” opposite Linda Hamilton (Terminator films), and John Savage (Deer Hunter). Other feature films include “Trapped” for Lifetime and the detective thriller “Dark World” opposite Michael Pare’, the supernatural thriller, “The Black Gate” and recently co-starred with Casper Van Dien in the World War II drama “Doolittle’s Heroes” about the famous “Doolittle Raid” after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
On television, Jeff’s credits include AHS “American Horror Story: Cult”, “How I Met Your Mother”, “One Life to Live”, “All My Children and was the Mayor for the first season of “Veronica Mars”. Guest starring roles include the pivotal character in the “NYPD Blue” episode that won Gordon Clapp an Emmy Award. Other shows include “Beverly Hills 90210”, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and many others.
In college, Jeff was a state and national Speech champion for Moorpark College and recently joined The Toastmasters Organization where he just won as the District Champion. As an active participant and Emcee for many charity events, Jeff is a long time supporter of such organizations as The Ronald McDonald House, The Muscular Dystrophy Association, The National Heart Foundation, The Special Olympics, The Frontline Foundation, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and is a proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Team.
