John is a restaurateur, a partner in a spirits development group and owner of an event catering company. In 2013, with four fellow bartenders, he opened Cinco, a 4500 sq. ft. restaurant and bar located in the Playa del Rey area of Los Angeles. Cinco serves authentic Oaxacan cuisine and features a bar program focused on agave spirits and American whiskies. In 2014, he and his partners created Angeleno Spirits, a consulting company responsible for the creation and development of the nationally distributed Angelisco Tequila. In addition, he runs Greylight Catering, a large-scale event food and beverage catering company.
