Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo Announces the Hospitality, Leadership & Profitability Workshop

New Pre-Event Education Program Offers Intensive Training for Independent Operators

Los Angeles, CA, July 5, 2016 – The Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo proudly announces the addition of the Hospitality, Leadership & Profitability Workshop to take place on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 8:00am – 6:00pm at the Los Angeles Convention Center.  Darren Denington, founder of Service with Style Hospitality Group, and David Scott Peters, founder of TheRestaurantExpert.com, will present a jam-packed day providing independent operators with the tools on how to drive sales by using the right systems, strong leadership and the perfect hospitality team. The Workshop will precede the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo taking place August 28-30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“We have been fortunate to have Darren and David speak at our events for the past several years to standing room only crowds, so we are thrilled to be able to partner with these two industry leaders to offer a full day workshop at our upcoming event in Los Angeles,” said Ron Mathews, Vice President, Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo.  “The feedback from operators who have taken their sessions is that they come away with tools and resources that have an immediate impact on their bottom line, but they have been asking for an opportunity for more intensive training on the subjects being presented. The full-day workshop will allow operators to delve into each topic fully.”

Attendees to the Workshop will learn fool-proof systems for reducing food cost, understanding the root of great service and how to apply it, how to cost out recipes to make money on every menu item, how to use labor dollars in the right department at the right time, tips to understanding and lowering employee turnover, the hospitality leadership traits required to run a successful operation, and much more. Registration for the workshop includes access for 2 attendees to both the full day education series as well as the Western Foodservice Expo and systems and training tools from both presenters. Each paid workshop participant is encouraged to bring one colleague for free in order to share the knowledge with a team member and receive twice the benefits. Following the Saturday Workshop, attendees will have full access to the Western Foodservice Expo and additional education courses being offered as part of the Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum.  Education sessions will include the 5th year anniversary of the Foodservice Council for Women – a newly revamped format and panel and introduction of new Beacon award to Kelli Valade, President of Chili’s Grill & Bar; the Torch Award presentation to Thomas Keller; The Rapid Fire Appetizer Competition as well as sessions covering the viability of traditional gratuities alongside California’s minimum wage increase; Rock Government Regulations and Food Safety; Restaurant Social Media Marketing and much more.
